CV
Ben first picked up a guitar sixteen years ago when he overheard some friends talking about forming a band, and didn’t want to be left out. Several years of practice and work on heavy metal covers followed, before starting to gig as a pop band, performing Ben’s original songs.
The pop band was followed by a hard rock outfit, Devoid, which gigged fairly extensively for two or three years; highlights included playing on the lead float on an Oxford May Day parade, and recording the classic track “Surfing in Beirut.”
Ben formed a pop band at college, by this time now firmly in control as a band leader, providing all but two of the songs in an original ten song set.
Since then, Ben worked in a succession of bands and solo projects, gradually refining his songwriting skills and skills as a vocalist, culminating in the 2002 debut album, Symphony of Silence. This was followed by a new band, Last American Tourist, which performed a number of gigs on the London pub circuit.
Ben has taken a career break for the past couple of years, following the birth of his son. He is now planning his next project.
